Modern + Edgy Forest Wedding in Northern California

Modern + Edgy Forest Wedding in Northern California

Just north of Lake Tahoe is the Chalet View Lodge, located in the cozy mountain town of Graeagle. It was here that Alicia + Derek said their I do's, amidst golden fields of wheat and tall evergreen trees. The two had been together for 10 years and you can see every bit of love they have for each other illuminated in the photos captured by Hannah Costello. Alicia's sister, Aubriana of The Bloomery Co., crafted the most beautiful fall-inspired florals to complement the natural scenery and modern + moody design elements.

Alicia shares Aesthetically, our inspiration for the day was a picture of what looked like bleached black paper that I had come across. The colors were exactly what I was looking for and oddly enough, the texture felt very natural but the bright bleached white spots almost looked like glitter. Instantly the mix of raw texture mixed with that sparkle and glitz was what I knew I wanted for the style. Derek and I have been together since high school, so we know all the same people, have endless jokes, and incredible memories together. We wanted everyone to feel how much we all loved each other, and how much they meant to us. Every single person who attended our wedding has played such a huge role in our lives. From the style, the music and dancing, location, and food, we just wanted everyone to remember it as the most amazing night...

Watercolor-inspired + beautifully modern, this invitation is by Ruth Kind.

Antique roses, golden ferns, touches of cream and silver dollar... The Bloomery Co. is responsible for this wonderfully woodsy bouquet.

Lookin' so sharp!!

SO MUCH YES to these dresses for the 'maids!

Alicia's stunning dress is from BHLDN.

How dreamy are these two?

HELLO FLORALS!

Recessional: First Date by Blink 182

First Dance: The Wine We Drink by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors

Enjoy every second of it, even the stressful bits. Even though it's "your day," be considerate of your wedding party, and all the people that you paid or volunteered to help you (basically don't be a bridezilla). Get your invites done ASAP! Getting those out late can be stressful and mail doesn't always cooperate. And finally, getting both an amazing photographer and videographer is worth every cent!

How gorgeous is this display by Aubriana with The Bloomery Co. for the table numbers?!

The prettiest fall-inspired florals made the perfect centerpiece statement.

We put this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald on the menu, "I don't ask you to love me always like this, but I ask you to remember the person I am tonight." And that was the feeling we wanted to create for the entire night, for everyone to experience.

Brassy gold + antique roses make such a delicious combo, don't you think?

These decadent delights were provided by Farm to Table Catering.

It's almost impossible to pick the most memorable moment, but it had to be dancing with each other. Not just our first dance, but really dancing. We've never smiled and laughed so hard. Even if we stopped for a second just looking around and seeing everyone we loved surrounding us was incredible.

What. A. Treat. Congrats Alicia + Derek!! For a little bit more, watch this sweet video by Kyle Mize Productions.
