Aimee & Jonny's Natural & Fun Relaxed Outdoor Garden Wedding

Afternoon Lovely Peeps and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. It is a beautiful day in Kent today and I am feeling those happy spring vibes. I just love this time of year. I always think Spring is the season of positivity. Everything about this time of year, from the flowers starting to bloom to the temperatures rising, is all about growth and looking forward and I just love that. Late Spring also signifies the beginning of wedding season for us and I am sure there is a whole bunch of you reading this right now that are in the final stages of wedding planning. If you are then I hope you are finding the time to enjoy it. These last few months tend to be where the anxiety and stress really starts to kick in. Take a breath and try to relax. It will be all ok - I promise - and in a few months you are going to be lapping up the best day of your entire life. Getting married ROCKS!

To match the gorgeous sunshine today, we have an even more gorgeous wedding to share with you. Captured brilliantly by Ayesha Rahman, Aimee and Jonny's wedding was all about providing a relaxed and chilled day for their guests where fun and music was at the forefront. They also wanted to compliment the beautiful surroundings of their venue, The Spring Cottage, so kept their decor natural with plenty of handmade personal elements....

We wanted a laid back celebration in a beautiful setting that was entirely unique & personal, with everyone having a ball and dancing the night away under the stars.

Look out for all the personal touches which included handmade bunting, knitted blankets, a cool photo booth, an amazing cake and wooden center pieces. They also grew their own wild flowers for the tables which were placed in jam jars the whole family had been collecting.

Aimee and Jonny talk us through how it all began....

Jonny blindfolded Aimee convincing her we were meeting friends at Primrose Hill in London & it was a tradition to walk up with your eyes closed so you could appreciate the view of London from the top. He had arranged for champagne, music & fairy lights set up under a canopy of trees, Aimee took off the blindfold & saw Jonny on one knee. He had then arranged for their friends to meet in a local pub to celebrate & whisked Aimee off on a surprise trip to Paris for a long weekend.

Music and the beautiful environment brought out so much of what we wanted for the feel of our wedding. We knew we wanted it to be super chilled and unique, with everyone having the opportunity to get involved in creating something that was completely personal.

We decorated jam jars in lace & hessian that were used as center pieces for the tables and dotted around the venue. They either held flowers, tea lights or were filled with homemade wax candles. Every family member had been collecting jars & we had help decorating from the bridesmaids. Aimee's mum grew Wild flowers to fill the jars on the table. Aimee's step mum and sister made bunting to hang in the marquee and used tree stumps as table numbers by burning designs into the wood. We dried our own flowers to use as confetti and created confetti cones to hang on the chairs out of music scroll. The florist decorated the top table and chair isles with hessian and wildflowers and provided old ladders, crates, urns and bottles as props and hung festoon lighting outside the bar to create a dance area.

Spring Cottage set up hay bales which were covered in gorgeous hand knitted blankets. We also had blankets for our guests which were provided by Jonny's Mum & Nan as well as a May Pole Tree & Lit Fire Braziers which made the place look amazing at dusk. There was also fairy lights wrapped around the trees. We created a seating plan also made out of lace & hessian bunting. We painted a sign for the order of services made from a bit of old crate. There was a very natural feel with lots of candles & fairy lights to create a chilled atmosphere. We had our ceremony on the grass outside on fold down wooden chairs covered only with hessian bows. The meal was on trestle tables with center pieces made of large tree trunks, greens & jam jars. People helped themselves to the barbecue. All of our friends and family chipped in in some way

Just seeing all our friends & family enjoy all the efforts we put in. And when the sun went down seeing the venue completely change to something spectacular.

Enjoy the planning, get as involved as physically possible & make it your own (because it is!!)]

All the suppliers listed below were absolutely brilliant and I would use a million times over. Especially our photographer Ayesha who captured the day perfectly, videographer Stefan, the celebrant Joolz, Woodstock pizza & our venue Spring Cottage who have literally only hosted a handful of weddings. Each of these people were such a pleasure to work with and were such like-minded people - we couldn't have made the day as amazing as it was without their help and their wonderful support.
