Lauren and Alex's wedding at The Room on Main

Lauren and Alex's day was filled with love, modern details, a killer color palette and gorgeous HUGE smiles. The romantic Dallas celebration at The Room on Main touches on modern details like geode shapes, succulent centerpieces by Accent Florals Design and the bride's understated lace BHLDN gown. Lucky for us, Britt Latz Photography was on hand to capture all the joy, details and some really awesome portraits on the rooftop. Enjoy!

What made the wedding special and unique?

There was so much love in the venue that night. It was absolutely incredible. At one point towards the end of the night, we took a step back together while everyone was dancing and just looked at how many of our loved ones were there with us, laughing and dancing the night away.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

I saw the dress online at BHLDN and decided to order it, not really thinking it would work. I tried it on in my New York apartment when I was home alone. Once I had it on, I knew how much I loved it so I FaceTimed my mom & dad who live in Texas and it was our version of dress shopping!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

We wanted our wedding to reflect us and who we are throughout it all. So we intentionally had several subtle details that meant a lot to us. One of the special details was a lace garter made from a piece of my mom's wedding dress. Another was that we asked my cousin to read an excerpt from a poem by Rosemonde Gérard that Alex and I had fallen in love with which was special to my grandparents. We also included a Manhattan Mocktail since we've both been living in New York for a few years now.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

I laughed when I read this question because all of it is such a vivid memory to me which I hope to never forget. There are so many special moments that stand out to me that day, but one of my favorites is walking out for the ceremony with my dad, and the moment I locked eyes with Alex and how he was looking at me.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met in college. So after 6 years-the majority of those being long distance, 3 cities, 7 apartments and a french bulldog later he proposed to me at my parents' house one night when we were taking a walk. We were laughing and talking about when we first stated dating and we paused for a minute because our dog, who was a puppy then, was being a little too curious with something that was on the ground. When I realized it was just a leaf I turned back to Alex and he was down on his knee smiling one of the biggest smiles I'd ever seen from him!
