Our Favorite Registry Picks from Bed Bath & Beyond

Ah the wedding registry....after getting engaged + beginning the super exciting (and kinda crazy) process of planning your big day, it's easy to let your registry become just another item on your to-do list. Trust us, don't let that happen! Creating your registry can be really fun, you're basically shopping with other peoples money, decorating your new home and learning about nesting along the way! Plus, a registry is pretty much the only way you'll get the gifts you want and avoid the unpleasant process of returning unwanted items.

To help you make the most of your registry, we partnered with Bed Bath & Beyond to walk through their registry experience and create a registry with some help from their registry consultants. If you're like us, you're probably wondering how much help do you really need from a consultant. Well, during our visit we found that there were quite a few questions we had (Non-stick cookware or stainless? Is thread count really the most important quality to consider when buying bedding?) that they had heard hundreds of times and were able to answer on the spot. Normally questions like these would've lead us into a long session of Googling and reading many forums to come up with an answer. When you're busy, the quick answers are SO appreciated!

As you're probably guessing by now, we love that Bed Bath & Beyond offers a personal experience with product experts in store. When you come in to register (and yes, you can register online too, but after going through the in store experience we recommend starting with the in store registry and then you can always add to your registry online later), you meet with a consultant who is there to answer all your questions, learn more about you as a couple and make educated recommendations based on what has worked/not worked for many couples that came before you.

Since every couple is different and has different styles and different needs, your consultant will steer you in the right direction. Plus, they know all the products in the store - what's the most popular, the newest, which pans will work for your lifestyle, etc. SO helpful! Wish we had known about this back when we got married!!

Since weekends in Jan - March can get busy, they do recommend you make an appointment, but it's not required. You can walk in at any time and begin your registry process.

Another reason we love their registry? Bed Bath & Beyond has SO MUCH stuff! They carry a lot of great brands for the kitchen, bedroom and home - think KitchenAid, kate spade new york, Kenneth Cole, Dyson, Anolon and more! It's easy to find lots of practical - as well as stylish - items for your home.

A few other things we love about their registry? 1) Hassle free return policy with your gifts 2) Your registry stays active for 2 years and 3) After your wedding, you'll receive a 20% off your remaining registry items!

And now for the fun part....our list of Registry Faves! First, we choose a few areas to focus on: kitchen essentials, entertaining at home, and creating the perfect bed. :)

So, let's see our picks! Appliances for the Kitchen KitchenAid 5-Quart Artisan™ Custom Metallic Stand Mixer KitchenAid Spiralizer Plus with Peel, Core and Slice Stand Mixer Attachment Vitamix Blender Cookware

All-Clad Stainless Steel Fry Pans with lid - 10″ and 12″

All-Clad Stainless Steel 3-Quart Covered Saucepan Le Creuset Dutch Oven Kitchen Extras Marble Utensil Holder Olive Wood Kitchen Utensils

So, when looking at kitchen products, I wanted to find items that I might not buy for myself - items that have a higher price tag and will last for years to come. The KitchenAid Stand Mixer is a popular registry favorite and there is a good reason - it's perfect for someone who loves to cook + bake - and I LOVE all the colors currently available. The metallic copper is STUNNING in person and really is a gorgeous piece to display in your kitchen. Another appliance we use everyday is our Vitamix Blender - this blender is AMAZING! If you like to make smoothies, it blends everything so well. I make a green smoothie every morning with kale, spinach, apples, chia seeds, yogurt and more and our Vitamix blends it perfectly.

Love to cook + looking for some great pans? I recommend a few great pans versus a set, but definitely chat with the consultant and think about what you cook and what makes sense for YOU. We went with these All-Clad Stainless Steel Pans, they should last us for years to come.

Drinkware Olivia & Oliver Cocktail Glasses Olivia & Oliver Red Wine Glasses Olivia & Oliver White Wine Glasses Moscow Mule Mugs Serveware + Dinnerware Olivia & Oliver Harper Organic Dinnerware Fortessa Brushed Gold Flatware Artisanal Kitchen Supply Coupe Marble Vegetable Bowl Artisanal Kitchen Supply Round Cutting Board

One of my favorite things to register for (and the thing I most often recommend) are a great set of plates. I've been using these plates from Olivia & Oliver the past few months and just LOVE them. They are a great quality and can easily be used everyday or easily dressed up for a fancier meal. A great set of flatware is another must and this is a chance to register for that gold flatware you've been eyeing!

If you love wine, a good set of wine glasses (red + white) are a good idea. Jason + I love making Moscow Mules, so why not register for a great set of Mule Mugs?

We also love putting together cheeseboards, so this round cutting board is great to put together a gorgeous display of cheese, nuts + fruits for snacking.

I love having fresh flowers around the house, so I totally recommend registering for a pretty vase you love to keep those beauties in. This vase by kate spade new york is pretty gorgeous and reads: "i'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck, with freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" - gotta love that!

Ok, a good vacuum makes all the difference and this Dyson V8 Absolute Cord Free Stick Vacuum is amazing! It's cordless, light and actually makes vacuuming fun - honest!

Your Bed Wamsutta Dream Zone 750 Thread Count Deep Pocket Sheet Set Cupcakes and Cashmere Moroccan Geo Duvet Cover Cupcakes and Cashmere Moroccan Geo Pillow Sham Mongolian Lamb Faux Fur Pillow Throw Blanket

So, with sheets it's so hard to buy online since you really want to make sure the sheets are soft and the exact color you are looking for (why are colors so different online and in real life with sheets?!?) Exactly why they are perfect things to register for while in the store.

Another fun fact we learned while at Bed Bath & Beyond - did you know that a higher thread count doesn't mean higher quality sheets? It means they are thicker and less breathable! So, if you tend to be a warmer sleeper, you likely prefer sheets that are a bit more airy. I had no idea on that one and since we live in California, we don't really need heavy sheets, so we chose a lower thread count than we usually buy and are totally loving them! We picked up the Wamsutta 620 Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set and we've been using these sheets the past 2 weeks - SO comfy! We paired those with a comforter and a duvet cover + pillow shams by Cupcakes and Cashmere - yes, they carry her line as well as a bunch of other designers. I recommend also registering for a few accent pillows - this Mongolian Lamb Faux Fur Pillow is so super soft- along with a throw blanket.

And my favorite treat for newlyweds? Breakfast in bed! It's the perfect way to start the weekend together :)

Also, if you are a coffee lover, the Chemex makes the BEST coffee plus it will look great in your kitchen.

We hope this post helps inspire those of you starting to think about your registry! And check out the Bed Bath & Beyond website for Rock Your Registry events as well as schedule an in-store appointment to get all squared away with registry picks!

Thanks so much to Sanaz Photography for the gorgeous photos!
