Elise has been taking us through her wedding planning adventures for the past several months - and we're thrilled to finally be able to share her big day! From the something blue on the bride's shoes to the sweet portraits of the happy pair, this celebration is one of a kind. No wedding dress is complete without a wedding day name hanger.

I was so happy when I found this bridal sash on etsy for $55! I had tried on one almost exactly the same at the bridal boutique where I found my dress, but that one was over $300!

I love this engraved bracelet with our wedding date on it. My earrings, necklace and hair pin also added just the right amount of sparkle I was looking for.

My groom's cousin Padi is an amazing makeup artist, and I love the bridal look she did for me!

These wedges were the perfect wedding shoes with a bit of sparkle! I was able to dance the night away in them. But when the wedding was over and we moved to the after party, I was ready to switch into my Tieks silver flats. If you're looking for a wedding shoe with a little bit more of a heel, rather than a wedge, I was also considering these.

I got my bridesmaids these pretty robes that match their cobalt blue dresses. They all looked so beautiful! My bridal robe is from BHLDN.

How funny are these hankies? My mom and I joked a lot about our fear of ugly crying on the wedding day, so I got us these "No ugly crying" hankies to make us laugh (and dry our happy tears).

I wanted my bridesmaids to be able to have different dresses that fit their personal style and was flattering on each of them. But I'm also a little too much of a control freak to just tell my bridal party "pick a blue dress," and hope for the best. These infinity wrap bridesmaid dresses were a happy medium, and were very reasonably priced. They come in short and long lengths and a variety of colors, and I picked royal blue, which I knew would be beautiful on everyone's skin tone. I love how my girls each tied their dress differently but still look cohesive.

Our ceremony and reception were both held in the courtyard of the beautiful Firehouse Restaurant in Old Town Sacramento. The venue was beautiful and intimate and felt very us, and their wedding coordinator Randy was just incredible at his job and made us feel at ease through every step of the sometimes very stressful wedding planning and wedding process!

We did a combined traditional American and Persian wedding ceremony, and squeezed in our own vows as well. Part of a traditional Persian wedding is the sofreh aghd (wedding spread), which is a table with different items placed on it that symbolize different things for the bride and groom. They include things like honey for a sweet life, coins for wealth, bread and greens for nourishment, and eggs for fertility. Usually, they're very elaborate and full of bling. We wanted ours to be beautiful but more simple, because that's more our style and also because we didn't have a huge ceremony space. We looked for ways to add special and elegant touches to our sofreh, such as using the same mirror and candlestick holder that Omied's parents had on their sofreh for their wedding day, and decorating our own eggs. We also found some really beautiful pieces on etsy. A sofreh shop on etsy created our esfand (incense) flower, kaleh ghand (sugar cubes that are rubbed over the bride and groom's), and bread flower.

We absolutely loved our ceremony. Our officiant Cindie Wilding did a wonderful job of telling our love story and setting a warm and joyful mood. She was fantastic to work with and you can read more about her on my blog here.

I thought it would be a nice touch to have an assortment of hankies on the sign-in table for guests to take before the ceremony started. These hankies came in different, beautiful fabrics with pretty lace hand-stitched around them. Turns out they were well received; so many guests told me they cried during our ceremony and were happy to have a hanky!

These origami place cards were a nod to my Japanese heritage, and also just downright adorable. We had plated meals, so the different colors represented whether that guest had ordered filet mignon, chicken or salmon.

We put photos of our parents on their wedding day next to one of our engagement photos with a sign that said, "A look at our inspiration for ever-lasting love."

Our centerpieces consisted of three different types of silver vases, blue and white hydrangeas, white anemones, and votive candles. The grey lace table runners really tied everything together ( this etsy shop makes custom table runners in different styles, colors and lengths).

For our table numbers, we thought it would be fun to incorporate a fun fact about us and our relationship that we could associate with each number.

We did s'more kits for wedding favors and found these cute labels, bag and twine kits on etsy. We also had our hashtag, #HappilyEverArvin printed on the label so people wouldn't forget it while they were 'gramming. We also had surprise ball party favors for the kids at our wedding.

On our sweetheart table we had these, "I DO," "ME TOO," forks.

We did a DIY photo booth and were so happy that people had so much fun in it. We printed the props, glued them to foam core board, cut them with an exacto knife, and hot-glued sticks on each of them. We hired Oksana Lucaci to take the photo booth photos and she did an awesome job!

We ordered about ten belly dance scarves to bring out when the Persian dancing started heating up. They were SO much fun. You can see more crazy Persian dancing in our wedding video, and my favorite gif of all time of our friend Dan shaking his hips here.

I dreamed of having a sparkler exit, but alas fireworks are illegal in Sacramento County. So we ordered 200 glow sticks and they were actually great because the venue brought them out for people to play with towards the end of the night (lots of glow stick necklaces and headbands popped up), and then wave around as we exited, which made for a really fun exit on video and in the photos.
