We have an uber cool engagement shoot to share with you all today.

Captured by the awesome Ryan from Shutter Go Click, Anna and Myles engagement shoot oozes artistic style, atmosphere, and story telling. I have completely fallen in love with Ryan's photography style. He has done a fantastic job of not only capturing Anna and Myles' personalities and love for each other but also manages to tell a story through the shoot.

The pictures, which were captured at Embasy and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, are engaging and have the most gorgeous dramatic quality to them. They could even be stills from a film which is what I love the most about them. So much has been captured in one single photo, making the shoot just as much about the location and setting as it is about the couple. I love it!

Anna and Myles tell us a bit about the shoot, their wedding and why Ryan was the man they chose to capture it all.

Anna and I first met at school. I'd had a dream about her whilst on a family holiday to Greece and plucked up the courage to ask her out when I got back. We dated for about 3 weeks which was a long time back then. It was another 20 years before we met again, in that time Anna had moved to London, married in Vegas and had 2 children, Ollie and Spike. She seperated from her husband in 2010. In 2008 we had reconnected via Facebook. I saw an opportunity on hearing she was single again, so on Friday 13th January 2012 invited her over for tea and Battenberg, the rest they say, is HISTORY!!!

After tea and battenberg at my house we headed out to the local boozer (Fence Gate) for many drinks and hours of laughter into the early hours. It felt like we'd never been apart.

I (Myles) proposed in december 2013. Id arranged for my mum to look after Dottie to allow us to climb to the top of Embsay Crag, where I proposed on bended knee. I had a ring, a poem that I had written and drawings of the crag and their family, we were both crying!!

We chose to get married at St. Marys Church, Embsay and then for a bit of a knees up at Embsay Village Hall. We live a stones throw from both the church and the hall which has strong local ties. It seemed like the perfect place.
We tried not to get bogged down with a particular theme, we just wanted a DIY wedding with a mix of everything we loved from vintage to modern day items brought from the family home. We borrowed vintage furniture from Glory Glory Vintage. Flowers were picked from the brides grandmothers garden by her mother and styled on the day. The grooms mother sourced tablecloths, plain and laced from charity shops for the tables. The groom and brides father built a bar from pallets and painted with chalkboard paint for the village hall, along with a 7ft sq envelope wall for guests messages.

Ryan is a total creative genius. He photographed our engagement shoot and wedding and we were completely blown away by his amazing talent and enthusiasm. His pictures are simply beautiful and stunning - natural and organic - he knows how to capture the day perfectly without uncomfortable awkwardly posed nightmares... (Plus all the pictures were back to us ridiculously quickly!) We really can't recommend him enough. Not only is he an amazing photographer, he's also a top bloke, we felt completely comfortable in his presence and we feel like we made a friend for life. Thanks Ryan.

For our engagement shoot we decided on The Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, again near to our home and a great location close to our hearts. Also a beautiful location. Ryan did an amazing job and really captured the moment!

If we could choose one it would be Just so Festival. It looks amazing and perfect for our 3 children. Dottie our youngest (almost 2) would love it, and its relatively close to home! Maybe next year!!

My names Ryan of Shutter Go Click Photography, the artistic alternative to traditional wedding photography in Saltaire, Leeds & Yorkshire. I've always loved pre wedding shoots, above all else they give me a chance to get to know the couple outside of what can be a pretty stressful day. Without sounding too pretentious (which is always followed by me saying something pretentious) spending time with them can alter my perspective on how I create.

Just like Anna & Myles here, for me the images represent them, their character as a couple & how they interact. There's kind of a wildness to the images even in such a tranquil setting & in every frame it's just so clear how much they adore one another. It really warms my cockles.

Engagement shoots are a way for you to get used to me, my terrible sense of humour & my giant camera. Yes they give me a bit more time to experiment with different techniques & compositional elements. But above all else they give me more of a window into what makes you the people that you are... & isn't that what the wedding day is truly celebrating?
