Today we are sharing the work of Seven Quarters Photography with you. Wihan and Martli had such a beautiful outdoors engagement shoot in Bloem.

A little birdie told us the two pair got hitched not that long ago, so congratulations on your wedding, Wihan en Martli!

Wihan and I didn't only study at the same university, but we were in the same faculty for 4 years. I must have been blindfolded, because the first time I ever saw this beautiful young man was at our graduation. Wihan can remember exactly 3 times that he saw me within those 4 years. But you know what they say about timing...

At our graduation, a mutual friend told me that Wihan would also be doing his community service year in East London.Seeing as I didn't know anyone in East London, I decided to go over to him and introduce myself.

It's amazing how we can remember every single detail about that fateful meeting. He often describes how I looked in my black graduation toga and I remember exactly how he smiled at me when I walked up to him.

We became good friends and only a year later did we admit our feelings to each other while watching the waves dance on a December afternoon...

On our first morning in Mozambique in June 2016, we woke up at 5am to watch the sunrise. This was mostly my idea, or so he made me believe! I therefore didn't expect a thing!

We walked to the beach and sat on a dune for hours - just talking about the beauty around us and life in general. As the sun rose above the ocean, a pink/orange balloon, Wihan gave me a book and said he wanted me to read it. I thanked him and attempted to put it away, but he insisted that I page through it, as he made notes at certain days of the year that held a special meaning for us. Oblivious, I paged through the book and noticed a square shaped block that was cut out - starting at 19 June. In the little hole I discovered a round object... Wihan went down on one knee and I was laughing and crying at the same time!
