Amee Kim has a very distinct perspective on Los Angeles, her home, and on fashion. When not capturing a cup of coffee, a national park or a hip restaurant in her studied black-and-white colorway for her mesmerizing Instagram account (@amee.kim), she works at A.L.C. The fashion label is designer Andrea Lieberman's collection of beautiful, casual clothes favored by cool girls on both coasts, although it is headquartered squarely in L.A.

For their fall lookbook, A.L.C. took their collection of luxurious knits and florals out in the Hollywood neighborhood surrounding Milk Studios. Amee Kim was there to snap some candid moments from the photo shoot. She shared them with us, along with her Instagram and style tips.

What's the key ingredient to developing a style on Instagram?

In my opinion, the key ingredient to developing a style or aesthetic for your Instagram feed is consistency. It's so important to stay true to who you are and not waver from that too much. I like to keep my feed minimal in regard to color palette and subjects.

Your own aesthetic is very minimalist, black and white. How do you select subjects for your photographs?

I find inspiration in shapes, lines, shadows and corners. I like to capture an element of this in every photo. To keep my feed minimalist, I stay consistent in how I edit every photo.

What are some of your favorite places to photograph in L.A.?

Some of my favorites are Silverlake, Venice and Downtown L.A., specifically the Arts District. What are some of your favorite Instagram accounts that you follow?

There are so many accounts I find inspiring. Besides A.L.C.'s (@alc_ltd), I love @h.va and @thismintymoment for their love of design and nature-the effortless juxtaposition. Also @jessifrederick and @c__l__o for their amazing curation, and my friend @justinryankim for his consistent and clean feed.

The fall A.L.C. collection is situated in L.A. How does the city translate into the clothing styles for this season?

A.L.C. has always stayed true to the idea that every piece in your wardrobe should feel like your favorite. There's an ease and emotion to each collection that feels like Los Angeles. The fall collection definitely reflects this mantra.

Which styles from the current collections are your favorites?

Every collection is so good! My current obsessions are the Blaine studded suede jacket, the Mason jumpsuit and the Emily gaucho.

What are you wearing right now?

A.L.C. Tesi tee, R13 boyfriend jeans and my adidas Triple White Ultra Boosts. I could live in this outfit.

What are essential styles for an L.A. girl?

It's hard to say because L.A. is made up of so many transplants from all over the world. I think that's what's so amazing about "L.A. style." It's always evolving, but it should always feel easy. I am a sucker for cropped wide-leg jeans and culottes. I also wear a T-shirt almost every day. What are your favorite things about L.A.?

To piggyback on the last question, my favorite thing about L.A. is its diversity-the food, the culture, the style. I'm from the East Coast, and when I moved here four years ago, it certainly wasn't an easy transition. But through the years, I've grown to love it so much.

What are your favorite places in L.A.?

Some of my favorite spots are Ace Hotel, Mohawk General Store, Proof Bakery, Line Hotel and Alchemy Works. I also love visiting hidden gems like Sawyer in Silverlake and Document Coffee Bar in Koreatown.
