Decadent gown beading, a black bow-tie-clad groom, manhattans from the gilded bar-cart-these are all signs (or should we say fabulous wedding details) that point to a classic affair poised to stand the test of time. And this wedding has some serious staying power. Heidi Mayne, of Red25 Events, created a gorgeously, glam bash for the wedding celebration of this exceptionally, adorable couple. Justine Ungaro was on hand at the Ojai Valley Inn to capture all the details of Kate and Adam's big day.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Kate and Adam, two people flush with friends and wonderfully supportive families, wanted a party. And not just one party...but two. Adam was, after all, to turn 30 the day before he married Kate. So, they had a lot to celebrate.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

It is a Monique Lhuillier beaded gown called "Gwenyth". Kate had been to several dress shops and she found this one with her mom and sister and couldn't resist it!

What were some touches added to make it personal?

Following the ceremony, while Ybarra Music's guitarist "strolled" guests up to the cocktail hour playing Django Reinhardt-style jazz, Red25 Events created a special moment alone for Kate and Adam before they
returned to mingle with their guests on the Hacienda patio. Guests collected their calligraphed escort cards from vintage suitcases filled with baby's breath, styled beautifully on a mercury glass table in front of the fire. When the ballroom doors opened, guests were welcomed into a warm, festive room by West Coast Music's band, Impulse, playing Stevie Wonder's "Superstition"...quickly followed by Kate and Adam's first dance to Al Green's "Love and Happiness."
In keeping with the "Gentleman's Library" theme, round and rectangle tables, draped in La Tavola's luxe textured linens, were topped with lush florals and sparkling candlelight in curated vessels sourced from residential libraries. The stage was draped with champagne fabric, fronted by crystal, caged chandeliers, illuminated by Images By Lighting. The dance floor was framed by chocolate leather banquettes and bronze cocktail tables. The room was finished with R. Jack Balthazar's masculine library-inspired bar, complete with bookshelf ladder, tufted double barstools, and personal curiosities such as scotch decanters, Edison bulb lanterns, antlers, and binoculars.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Seeing each other for the first time - it was just us in a beautiful garden experiencing a perfect moment. And of course, the ceremony that followed. We got married under a beautiful large oak tree just as the sun was beginning to set. It was not only the most memorable moment of the day, but probably the best moment of our lives.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met at a movie premiere and the chemistry was immediate. Four years later, Adam proposed at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Beach at sunset. It was a total surprise!
