Timeless weddings are a favorite at Snippet & Ink, and Michael and Emily's Seaside celebration is exactly that. We love the lush pink and white bouquets, the elegant tented reception and the couple's vintage getaway car, but best of all, we love how much fun these two are having!

"Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of a wedding in Seaside where I made all my childhood memories. When Michael proposed, there was no question about where to get married. Seaside was such an integral part of my growing up, and it was absolutely perfect for our wedding."

Are there any DIY details you'd like to tell us about? We addressed all the invitations ourselves to save some money. It was a cost-saver, but people also thought it was personal and friendly - a win-win!

Did you incorporate something old, new, borrowed and blue into your wedding day attire? My father's cufflinks, which we bought together in France, were woven into my bridal bouquet and served as my something old. My gown was my something new. I borrowed my mother's diamond earrings, and Michael bought me a small turquoise bracelet for my something blue.

The Ceremony

"The chapel, friends, and family - everything was perfect on our wedding day."

Your ceremony in three words. Simple, elegant, intimate.

What was your ceremony music? My mother walked down the aisle to " Hornpipe" from Water Music by Handel. My bridal party processed to Pachelbel's "Canon in D," and I walked down the aisle to Wagner's Bridal Chorus.

Who officiated your ceremony? Michael's uncle officiated the ceremony. Neither one of us is particularly religious, and we wanted someone we knew and who knew us to lead the ceremony.

What were your vows like? Michael and I both value tradition, so we exchanged time-honored vows during our ceremony.

What were your ceremony readings? " The Good-Morrow" by John Donne, and Corinthians 13.

We love the vintage Packard convertible that Emily and Michael used to make their wawy from the ceremony to the reception!

How did you go about planning your wedding? We had the help of a wedding planner from Seaside, who was invaluable in the planning process. Because our engagement was relatively brief, all the planning happened at once. Once the location was secured, we booked our florist and photographer. We also wanted a great band for the reception, so we booked them as soon as possible. Catering and cake were booked about three months in advance, and we had a beautiful wedding planned in only six months!

The Reception

"We held our reception on a large lawn beneath an open tent with a small stage for dancing and the band. Long rectangular tables with tablecloths seated the guests and there was a long dark wood table for the bridal party. There were café lights strung everywhere and pink flowers wherever you looked."

Why did you choose this location for your reception? I wanted to be outdoors. It was March in Florida, and the weather was perfect. The beautiful green grass complemented the lush pink flowers and crisp white linens.

What inspired you when you were planning your reception? We wanted the ceremony and reception to feel warm for all our guests, and, most importantly, we wanted everyone to have fun.

What type of cake or dessert did you serve? We served a 4-tier vanilla cake with alternating layers of fresh strawberry filling and chocolate filling.

Do you have any budget tips for other brides? Pick what is really important to you and allow yourself to spend money in that area while cutting from other areas. For example, I wanted a lot of flowers, but didn't care as much about our wedding menu. So I splurged on flowers, and really tried to cut back on the catering expenses.

What was your first dance song? " Fly Me to the Moon," by Frank Sinatra.

What was your favorite moment or part of the reception? My godfather's toast. My father passed away a couple of years ago and was very missed at my wedding. My godfather gave a toast in remembrance of my father's vibrancy and good sense of humor which I felt solidified my father's presence on my wedding day.

What was the best advice you received as a bride? Have fun, and enjoy every moment. You may meet a few obstacles on your wedding day, or miss the people who aren't there, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime day and everything will turn out beautifully.
