Advice from the Bride

My advice to couples planning a wedding is to go through the effort to make the details meaningful! On our entry table we displayed our rings on an old carabiner to represent our shared passion for climbing. Beside our rings was a note asking guests to bless our rings in a vintage typewriter that Will uses to write short stories and love letters. We crafted our ceremony and vows to be sure that they were accurate to our love and vision of marriage, and wrote them out in hand decorated notebooks. Our reception centerpieces included vintage frames with old vintage photos that coordinated with the guests at the table, and at each place setting was a favorite typewritten love poem or quote. We made all of our table banners and a sign for our head table that reads "this must be the place", a nod to one of our favorite songs. We also hand picked all the music, including key songs for specific people. To share a dance or a knowing glance when a special song came on was like a little gift. We decided to have pies instead of cake for the simple reason that we both love pie! And there is just something about enjoying a hearty slice of pie when the fruit is in season and the sun is shining that makes you think, "Well if this isn't nice, I don't know what is."
