DIY Metropolitan Building Wedding: Lindsey + Trevor

via

Lindsey + Trevor have a deep love for art + design. He has a background in architecture and she in visual arts + display. The main inspiration for their early fall DIY wedding was their gorgeous venue, The Metropolitan Building in Queens, New York. At first sight, they fell in love with the raw wood + exposed brick and saw their wedding as a chance to fulfill their shared passion for finding old objects and making them new again. So a handmade celebration was the only way to go. They built their own wedding backdrop, put together the tablescape centerpieces, even tackled the floral design, with the help of a few talented friends. Total DIY gurus, these two.

Let's get right to it + check out the beautiful photos by Turn Loose The Art!

Guys, this dress! Lindsey found it at a Pronovias sample sale and the train was altered to incorporate hand-dyed indigo fabric, stitched in by her mom + aunts. We're blown away!

Lindsey + Trevor constructed a large weaving installation from reclaimed wood + fabric trims that acted as the backdrop for their ceremony. Seriously gorgeous + a great DIY to try!

Such fun tablescape design! Loving the organic, artful feel. Bravo, Lindsey + Trevor!
