I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.

Since meeting Nick I have come to realise that life is full of surprises and that when Nick puts his mind to something he springs into action and makes it happen. We met quite unexpectedly one Saturday afternoon when my sister and brother-in-law persuaded me to go along with them to watch rugby. I wasn't particularly fond of rugby or Hooters but I went along anyway to have something to eat. While eating my burger a guy came across and sat next to me. I moved down thinking that he probably wanted to be near the cute girls at the end of the table but he stuck to me like glue for hours making small talk.I didn't particularly take much notice of him and when we were about to leave he asked me for my number. Even though I had given him the wrong number he did some serious detective work on Facebook and contacted me, the rest is history. I had waited a long time for "Mr Right" and honestly never expected to meet him at Hooters!

December 2012 Nick surprised me by planning a trip to Mauritius. It was one of the best holidays I had been on and we had a fantastic time! On New Year's Eve Nick seemed calm as we got ready to go to dinner, Nick had secretly organized a private dinner table for the two of us on the beach. We walked along the beach as we usually did after dinner. After a while I noticed his heart beating furiously in his chest. I asked him if he was feeling alright. It was then that he dropped onto one knee with the ring in his hand and proposed to me just before midnight.

It was incredibly romantic and totally took me by surprise! I accepted with a high pitched yes!

Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

I was a very fortunate bride as Nick and I planned everything together. We had booked the perfect venue and paid the deposit, everything was on track. A few months later I received a call from the Westcliff Hotel explaining that they had to cancel our booking due to renovations and would refund our deposit. Naturally I was distraught and panicked!

Luckily with the help of the Wedding Friends Blog we found The Munro Boutique Hotel with a similar style and elegance that I had been looking for and so we moved to plan B.

Don't Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

It was 15:15 and the Bridal Party was ready to leave for the church. My Matron of Honor went to collect the bouquets and to her dismay she discovered that the bridal bouquet was not a bunch of beautiful cascading Orchids but a wilting sparsely decorated tiny collection with an unraveled ribbon. My heart dropped when I saw this, I am a perfectionist and had planned every detail. This is not what I had imagined walking down the isle with.

My mother sprung into action and searched the venue for the florist and found a gentleman putting the final touches on the tables where the reception was going to be held. He quickly removed the dead flowers and filled in the bouquet with flowers from the arrangements on the tables. It didn't look like the bouquet I had wanted but it just had to do.

No More Wedding Woes | Share your wedding advice for future brides.

Plan well, be organized and get all your confirmations in writing. I bought both my bridesmaid dresses and wedding dress, it was worth it! The stress of fittings was gone and there were no surprises or disappointments before the wedding day. I believe that you should never skimp on your photographer, videographer, hair and make-up. Good hair and make-up can make you feel beautiful and confident. The photographer and videographer will provide you with wonderful memories from your special day. Book your chosen service providers early as the good ones always get booked up quickly. Keep it small and personal. It was very hard to keep our wedding at 100 guests but it was a very intimate wedding and we enjoyed every minute. Also remember that things will go wrong on the day, it is inevitable! My motto was "Let it Go". There was nothing I could do about it then, so I chose not to let it spoil the day we spent so long planning.

Finally, enjoy it. Time will fly by so quickly and before you know it the day will be over.
