Headlands Center for the Arts Wedding: Anna + Filip

Anna + Filip’s modern seaside wedding was filled with so many sweet details + a fresh take on one of our fave color combos – pink + gold! They modernized the atmosphere of their historic venue, The Headlands Center for the Arts, with clean-lined benches for ceremony seating + graphic chevron runners decorating the reception tables. And their attire had a playful tone, too. Anna wore a super cute heart-shaped hair fascinator + fun shoe clips from Ban.do + Filip kept it carefree with a gingham shirt + floral bow tie. Here’s more from Anna about their day:

The happiness of all of our family + loved ones gathering and helping to make our wedding day come together was incredible! You spend months planning something, and then that day everyone just kinda takes over and showers you with love and makes you sit down and relax, it’s pretty much the best thing ever. That being said, it really does go by too fast. I have always heard that and tried to be conscious about soaking in the day as much as I could, and both of us made an effort to soak it in together. The special moments that happen are so great. My cousin officiated the most beautiful ceremony, my husband’s dear friend (one of our groomsmen) shed a few tears, my mother and sisters and I had way too much fun dancing together.

Big thanks to Delbarr Moradi for the beautiful photos + congratulations to Anna + Filip!

Such a sweet ceremony backdrop! Love the tissue paper heart :)

Our venue didn’t allow taper candles, so a candle lighting ceremony wasn’t a possibility. We used sand cups instead, gathering sand from a nearby beach (the place we got engaged) and poured them together into a larger jar during the ceremony. We kept the jar as a keepsake and have since started collecting little jars of sand on our travels.

We bought all our flowers the day before, which meant that I was giving up total control of my color choices in favor of saving money. It ended up being such a fun thing to do with my girls, as we assembled them the night before. I was so impressed with the floral arranging skills of my sisters, sister-in-law, and girlfriends!

If I can give any advice, it would be don't sweat the small stuff. You can sweat the small stuff for the months leading up to the big day if you want, but it's so much easier if you let your nearest and dearest take some things over when you all come together.
