Wedding - Natalia The Red-Nosed Bride

Natalia The Red-Nosed Bride

So to save some money, Natalia a couple weekends ago asked if I could bring my studio backdrop and put it in the corner of the barn where the reception was so they could create a mock photo booth for her guests. Yeah sure… So it stood there most of the night, unused. Then they came out with a huge container of random props and the people started grabbing them and lining up. Needless to say I was busy for a while. But this one and the first one in the comments were my favorite of the night. I was discussing with a possible client last week over a beer or 3 how weddings have changed from an overly-formal and dull event into something fun, incorporating the personality of those involved. Used to be that all weddings had to be formal and stuffy, full of formalities and rules. I encourage my clients to dress up, but have a good time. Make silly faces, do weird dances, and wear some outlandish shoes. Now I get plenty of crap from their aunts and other older folks in attendance saying, “Oh, you can’t do that at a wedding!” Or my favorite, “Making that face at your wedding is inappropriate!” I figure… if people are spending $10,000-$40,000 for a single day… let them do things their way. And as you can see, people had a great time, and that’s what matters most.
