Wedding - Happy Feet

Happy Feet

I had a meeting with a bride and her mother the other day and while reviewing my sample album of wedding photos, heard the mom gasp when she saw one of my favorite and most popular wedding photos and said in a conservative, school-teacher voice, “this isn’t appropriate. This is not what you do at a wedding. Weddings are supposed to be formal and everyone should be on their best behavior and dress like mature adults…” I grinned, biting my lip and tactfully replied, “I didn’t realize weddings had rules. Isn’t it up to the Bride & Groom to determine the look & feel and overall flow of a wedding and determine what is appropriate or not at their wedding?” Her reply was, “Not when I’m paying for it.” Ouch. So I asked the bride sitting next to us, “would you consider yourself and your fiancé to be tight-lipped, mellow, introverted homebodies?” knowing that the 22yo former-sorority girl was quite the opposite. She loved the photos showing who people really are, integrating their personalities, styles and energy into the weddings. So like these rad socks, or kicking your new husband or killing off all the groomsmen, the photos should capture who the people really are, not who they’re suppose to be. At least that’s my take on it, and I happen to stay pretty busy. Which is your favorite sock?
