Ian & Heloise's Zebra Country Lodge Wedding - Wedding Friends

We are in love with today's wedding, especially all the natural and floral elements that the bride incorporated. And who doesn't want an Oreo-buffet at a wedding?!

Have a look at these breathtaking pictures, taken by Splendid Productions.

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We met in our first year of studying at the North-West University in Potchefstroom, after we both signed up for a committee dedicated to caring for stray animals. Our first encounter was rather different, when Ian stole my diary to fill in his birthday in the middle of our first committee meeting. Of course I remembered his birthday shortly after that and the friendship blossomed, later turning into our happily ever after.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
I was working at a hospitality group at the time and I had to pitch a marketing plan in Plett, or so I thought. I flew down and could not wait to finish the proposal. My hubby-to-be had a different proposal in mind. As I entered the hotel room our favorite song started to play. The room was filled with photos of our time together and a dress with a love letter was lying on the bed. The letter contained highlights of our four years together, and he concluded by saying that he booked out the restaurant for us. I can't exactly remember his speech, but I can remember the moment for what it was - pure magic!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
There were so many breathtaking moments, but the one that stood out for me was when we were taking photos. I remember wanting to get the posing over and done with in order for the reception (or should I say party?) to start. We were being lovey dovey taking photos under my veil and the next moment a horse came up to us and put his head under the veil, staring at the both of us - almost with an attitude of "what the heck are you guys doing here?". It just reminded me that you should enjoy every moment for what it is, because in the end a wedding day is only a series of fleeting moments that should each be appreciated for what they are.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day
It was magic combined with the most realistic dream I've ever had.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides
You can only plan your wedding to a certain extent and then you have to sit back, relax and be swept away by the moment while staring into your hubby's eyes.
