'The Beauty of Simple Things': A Low Key East London Wedding

Valeria and Wen-Wei's London wedding was low key and ridiculously stylish. The bride's incredible outfit wasn't a wedding dress, it was a collection of different pieces she loved and put together herself.

The couple met on Tinder! "My sister came to London to visit me and we were waiting for The Strokes to come on stage in Hyde Park", the bride explained. "We were bored so I showed her how to use Tinder (which was completely pointless as she wasn't interested in dating at all). So I opened it and first random guy shown was Wen-Wei. I said to my sister: 'For example, let's say I like him. I swipe right. Ha. Look, he matched me. Now I could text him but obviously I couldn't be bothered'. After a couple of days I was tidying up my matches and was going to unmatch him, but my sister said: 'Oh come on, he looks cute! Just talk to him a bit, he may be interesting'. The rest is history!"

"We picked a scheme that was blue and white with natural elements. We wanted it to reflect the the sky that we were under before we met and the oceans we crossed to end up meeting totally randomly in London. The beauty of simple things was our motto - luxury as the attention to tiny details."

"We shaped the whole wedding on being alternative to the luxurious, perfect and cold settings that we see at so many weddings. Those things didn't appeal to us at all. We didn't want to make our guests sit around for hours and be constrained in unnatural clothes. We wanted to be informal and fun."

"We planned the wedding very quickly so we didn't set any kind of budget, which was probably a mistake. If we'd set one we wouldn't have been so nervous about what we spent!"
