Tammy and Alex's wedding was inspired by a carnival. "As soon as we saw a carnival themed wedding online we knew that was what we had to have too", the bride said. "We are both big kids at heart. We knew there was no way we would have a traditional wedding; we wanted something fun and this was perfect!"

"Since the wedding, everyone has told us that they loved how personalised it was. Everything was very us from all the DIY decorations (the flowers, streamers, signage, chair signs), to the nerdy poem we chose for the ceremony, the fire juggling, and having punk songs throughout!"

The ceremony was held amongst trees on an island! "The island was on a lake at Oakover Grounds. To get to the island you had to walk across a bridge festooned with bunting. The bridal party walked across the bridge and down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. The ceremony included the story of how Alex and I met, a super nerdy poem called Scientific Romance by Tim Pratt (Alex is a science teacher) which had everyone laughing. We also wrote personalised vows which had everyone crying. At the conclusion of the ceremony, we walked down the aisle and across the bridge (and in Alex's case, danced a little) to The Saints cover of River Deep Mountain High while our guests waved streamers."

"My advice for other couples would be to be super organised. Have a notes section in your phone so you can write down advice or recommendations that people give you. Also so when you wake up in the middle of the night having remembered something you've forgotten, you can write it down, rather than lying awake the whole night trying not to forget it again!"

"Additionally, if there is something you really want, just do it! Listen to others' advice, but don't let it define your wedding. Just because someone else thinks you should do something doesn't mean you should. You don't want to end up regretting something you did or didn't do for your wedding, so make sure you're true to yourself and your fiancé. That's what we did, and everyone loved how unique it was."
