Ellis and Elliot's stunning, tropical-inspired DIY wedding, captured by Plum & Oak Photo, is a perfect example of a handmade celebration done totally right, and we think you'll find yourself falling for all the cute details in a matter of moments!

The historic adobe style venue was the biggest inspiration for the wedding. Since it's located in Southern California where the couple grew up, they wanted it to be an eclectic bohemian mix, with both southwestern and tropical elements. There are a lot of cool tropical details like palm leaves and gilded pineapples incorporated and boho florals and skulls. And look at those floral plates! They remind of vintage Mexican or Spanish dishes. The couple managed to blend styles with an elegant feel and no excessive details, and there were several hot trends included.

Ellis and her bridesmaids looked so cute in their floral getting-ready robes! We're also loving the gorge, neutral dresses the ladies changed into, they are mix and match - off the shoulder ones, halter or strap ones; and of course floral crowns for everyone, cool and romantic, the choice was obvious as this was a tropical and boho wedding. The groom was wearing a navy suit, colored suits are very trendy now.

There were a lot of DIY touches that personalized this stunning wedding. Elliot and his Dad spent weekends working on projects, including constructing a 7 foot tall escort card display. A laser cut "Find Your Seat" sign directed guests, and we filled the shelves with "his & hers" favors - Voluspa candles and bottled matches from Anthropologie. I love the idea of using a hearth as an altar, it's eclectic and cool.
