Simple Fun & Colourful Quirky London Wedding - Whimsical...

Emotions ran high at Harry and Kate's wedding held on the 17th January 2015. With a touching first look, a meaningful ceremony and a party atmosphere in the evening, it looks as though a lot of memories were made that day.

I love how colourful this fun wedding turned out to be, think multi coloured confetti, vibrant blooms and colour pop shoes.

Kate found her tea length dress in Fur Coat No Knickers, which she teamed with a stunning red birdcage veil. While Harry had a custom made suit with red lining by Beggars Run, such a stylish pair.

Thanks today goes to the brilliant Marianne Chua for sharing these images.

THE PROPOSAL | Harry made Kate a surprise video featuring photos from the two years they'd been together, together with some lovely words. Harry then played it to her one Sunday morning at home and, at the end, got down on one knee...

THE VISION | A simple, fun London wedding where everyone felt comfortable and relaxed. Throw in plenty of good food, drink and dancing, and that was what we were after.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Kate did most of it, finding bargains on eBay (streamers, confetti and other decorations) and asking favours of friends (cake-making, music etc). Once we had the venues sorted, the rest fell together quite easily.

THE VENUE | Ceremony: Clissold House, Stoke Newington. Reception: The Peasant, Clerkenwell.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress and birdcage veil was from Fur Coat No Knickers, the shoes from Office (accessorised with funky "Love" shoe clips bought online), the coat was from eBay.

FINDING THE DRESS | I started in Fur Coat No Knickers and tried on a few but couldn't really see myself in a white wedding dress so I went to quite a few other places, trying on different styles. A few weeks later I went back to Fur Coat No Knickers and went for the first ever dress I'd tried on. I just wanted something I felt comfortable in and, most importantly, could dance all night!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Harry got a made-to-measure suit from Beggars Run. Cian, the owner, lives and works above a pub in Bethnal Green. The shoes were from Loake and the shirt from Folk.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Kate's brother-in-law Al played some instrumental songs before and after the ceremony at Clissold House, including Damien Rice's Cannonball (which was the background music to Harry's proposal video) as well as Bright Eyes, First Day of My Life.

Harry's sister read the words from a Bugsy Malone song during the ceremony: Give A Little Love. It's Kate's favourite film and the words were perfect for the informal occasion.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Kate didn't have bridesmaids in the traditional sense of walking down the aisle and wearing matching dresses but her best friend Emily helped with all the wedding dress shopping and arranging a fantastic hen night. Her sister Jen helped with getting decorations and making cakes and her friend Sonia did a brilliant speech before the best man.

THE FLOWERS | From Ginger Lily in Stoke Newington.

THE CAKE | We asked friends and family to make them for us, so had lots of cupcakes, chocolate rice crispy cakes and personalised fairy cakes.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The amazing Marianne Chua.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We didn't have a 'theme', but wanted a lot of colour throughout the day because we were getting married in winter. So the flowers, confetti, streamers and other touches were all multi-coloured.

Nick, the manager at The Peasant, has created a great pub atmosphere that marries the history of the pub with incredible modern-day cooking. We didn't need to add much to it to achieve the effect we wanted.

We created a table plan using awkward/embarrassing/fun photos of our guests that we found on Facebook and Instagram, which went down well.

We hired DJ Sue who played a selection of Motown/60s/Ska/Funk into the night.

THE HONEYMOON | Three nights in a 16 th Century coaching inn near Bath called The Talbot Inn.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | We got on so well with each other all day, with no stressful moments or crossed words. We really enjoyed every single minute. To see our guests doing the conga and limbo on the dance floor was a highlight.

One memorable moment for the guests was Kate barely being able to get through her vows due to the tears. We got there in the end though.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Try and keep it simple. Spend time (and money!) on the stuff that matters. People enjoyed the photo booth, plus the Polaroid camera we passed around. We focused more on creating a fun atmosphere, rather than lots of matching details and it really worked.
