Fall Trend: How to Mix Metallic Makeup

Whether on your nails or in your makeup, a little metallic is the perfect way to give your look a sassy boost. If you really want to step up your metal game, we strongly suggest mixing up your shades. Life's too short to settle for simple gold or silver eye makeup. Makeup pro Emma Willis of Contour Fossa shows us how to go heavy metal by using multiple colors of metallic eye shadows for one fabulous look!

Step 1. Apply eye primer to the entire lid and brow bone. For a metallic look like this one, try one with some shimmer and glow to it like Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion in Sin.

Step 2.
Using a flat shadow brush, apply a golden bronze shade onto the lid. Willis used Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Half Baked. To get the maximum pigment, press the color onto the lid, instead of simply brushing it on.

Step 3.
Press an icy, metallic blue shade (like the one found in the Romantic palette in L'Oréal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Crystal Shadow Duos) into the inner corners of the eyes. Blend the color upward, toward the middle of the lid, stopping at the center.
