Happy New Years Eve! As with every New Years Eve, it’s a Polka Dot tradition to countdown our favourite celebrity weddings of the year! (Check out 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 countdowns!)

Ms Herringbone helped me pull this post together, scouring the internet for the best and most gorgeous celebrity weddings of the year. Did we miss any of your favourites?

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson tied the knot with her fiance Brandon Blackstock in Tennessee just last month, wearing a gorgeous Temperley London wedding gown for her special day. Kelly and Brandon chose a farm wedding and a luxury resort in the Great Snowy Mountains.

Seth Meyers and Alexi Ashe

Saturday Night Live funnyman Seth Meyers married Alexi Ashe in the picturesque Martha’s Vineyard,  wore a stunning custom-made Caroline Herrera cap-sleeve lace gown, with an additional five “unofficial” bridal party gowns lent from the designer to wear as well (lucky girl!).

Keira Knightley and James Righton

A very low key event, the pair married in a small town hall ceremony in the south of France, with just a handful of friends and relatives present. Though some of the friends included Karl Lagerfield and Sienna Miller – low key indeed! Keira wore a dress she was rumored to have worn earlier to a BAFTA event and has worn it again since (not that I blame her, it’s stunning!).

Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price

The pair tied the knot at a private villa on the Spanish island of Mallorca, which kicked off a four-day wedding festival. And the best part – the groom baked the wedding cake (Carrot – the bride’s favourite)! Polka Dot Bride favourite Elizabeth Messina captured the beautiful photographs.

Sean Parker and Alexandra Lenas

Over the top? Yes. Excessively themed? Perhaps. But very, very beautiful? Undeniably. The Napster founder and Facebook billionaire married the singer-songwriter in Big Sur, California, and hire Ngila Dickson, the designer from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, to style their guests in custom looks. Yowsers. The couple chose the incredible Christian Oth to capture their day.

Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall

A very tightly guarded wedding, with bodyguards, helicopters and the veil of secrecy that so often comes with a magazine exclusive, Jen Hawkins married her beau of eight years, builder Jake Wall, in a dramatic Bali wedding and two stunning Toni Maticevski wedding gowns. Australian wedding vendors made the trek across the sea – including Sydney florist Grandiflora who styled over 20,000 roses.

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish

Kate Bosworth married writer-director Michael Joseph Polish in Montana in a spectacular event, ably assisted by the Martha Stewart Weddings team. The bride had two custom Oscar de la Renta dresses (the one during the ceremony featuring an eight foot train)and the groom wore a suit from Brooks Brothers. The ranch wedding was part of a four day celebration for guests.

Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Claire Lademacher

This royal couple married in a gorgeous, fairytale wedding in Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baum, France, with the bride wearing a silk Elie Saab gown with an elegant 10-foot train and Chantilly lace embroidery on the wrist length sleeves. There was much rejoicing in the streets, with fanfare and pomp the order of the day.  You can’t go without a classically beautiful royal wedding in a top 10 list!

Elisha Cutherbert and Dion Phaneuf

The Canadian actress wed her longtime love, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf in a large and lavish event. The church was decorated with maple leaves, the bridesmaids were in pale pink fishtail gowns and the bride herself was chauffeured in a black Chevrolet Camaro convertible. Fireworks topped off the days festivities.

Caroline Seiber and Fritz Von Westonholtz

The celebrated London-based Austrian stylist wed her husband Fritz in a lavish celebration in Vienna, wearing custom Chanel, and surrounded by friends, family and many a famous face. Everyone from designers Christopher Kane and Erdem Moralioğlu to Moda Operandi’s Lauren Santo Domingo and actress Emma Watson celebrated the couple’s nuptials in the beautiful Austrian city.
